Before 1.x: - Implement signal handlers. Whenever: - I don't know why, but in the ncurses UI when muting some channels in the third device and using the dummy driver, Umix segfaults. Investigate and fix. - New way of thinking muted channels .. store their volumes, but set a flag that tells that the current channel is muted .. pretend we are using hardware mute or something .. OSS doesn`t support his AFAIK, but ALSA might. Do it so that you could mute/unmute channels while still storing their previous values .. this would require some kikkailu / reading config files at startup. - ALSA driver (no proper library API documentation available .. the one found at www.alsa-project.org is not up to date .. this is IMO the weakest part of ALSA at the moment, the driver is much better than OSS technically) - The functions and structures etc still need some definement to work more dynamically with example ALSA and other drivers. - Enable i18n .. Umix should be i18n compatible already, and it was enabled at some point .. but disabled for now because it requires some tweaking with gettext and hmm ahh yes, translations! - New configuration saving/loading model .. more general so that different parts of the program can save and load sections from the config file etc.. like with xmms. Perhaps implement using an existing configuration library. - Fixing of FreeBSD compilation .. apparently no linking with ld is necessary and sys/soundcard.h does not define all structures etc .. not sure. Maybe someone could help me with this. - Add support for special functions like setting the 3DSE etc. This could be implemented as a more general function/callback support system, so that special functions of soundcards like SBLive could be supported and implemented independent of drivers. Especially try to implement easy setting of modes between 2 speaker and headphone speaker settings. This should be already possible with SBLive I think .. - Maybe use linked lists instead of static arrays of pointers in many places. - Scrolling of channels in ui_ncurses if number of channels is greater than number of lines on screen. - Maybe implement a feature that enables specific volumes not going accidentally over some level (very annoying when you accidentally set volume and pcm to 100 while playing some music, ugh!) This needs some simple rules definitions. Maybe a new [limits] option to config file ? - *BSD native drivers and testing (FreeBSD 4.2 tested, no native driver) - *BSD ports
